Although historical maps verify earlier buildings in the area, the foundations were probably built in the 15th century.  It has undergone numerous modifications over the centuries among which, in Via Mazzini, is the current arrangement of the three archways.  Originally there was probably only one opening archway at centre comprising the seigniorial entrance to the palazzo and courtyard on Via Carrari.  Subsequently, in 1910, the typical façade was changed again.
The plan anticipates the preservation of ground floor business activity as well as creation and reoccupation of the residences on the upper floor.
